FAQs

How detailed should my request be?

Please provide as many details as possible to aid the search for relevant records. Describe the nature of the record being requested and include project names or numbers, location, address, time frame, etc. to provide the most meaningful results. Requesters may be contacted by Central San staff to provide more clarity about the scope of their request.

Who will see my contact information?

Requesters contact information is not published on the portal but your name will appear as part of the request. All information sent and received by Central San is subject to the CPRA; therefore, any communications between Central San and the requester are a public record and may be released in response to a separate public records request.

Are all public records requests handled via this portal?

In general, records identified as responsive to CPRA requests are made available through the public records portal. If electronic records are not available, or the requester would like to view paper documents in person, arrangements can be made by emailing the request to the Secretary of the District's office at SOD@centralsan.org.

Are there any fees or charges for public records requests?

Central San may charge for the actual costs of duplicating paper records. Fees for copies begin at $.15 per page. There is no charge for electronic records that are provided via the public records portal.
